T0–T5 Model

The foundation for every workflow we will build today

TOPIC 1 OF 9 • 2.5 HOUR SESSION

Right now, most people in this room are operating at T1 or T2 with Claude on Car-Mart work. A field collector who still writes their weekly route notes by hand in the margin of a printed assignment sheet is at T0. A store manager who pastes one line from the collections ticket system into Claude, takes the first answer, and moves on is at T1. By the end of these two and a half hours, the goal is clear: every person currently at T1 will leave able to work at T2 on real Car-Mart matters, and every person at T2 will leave able to work at T3 across the systems they actually use.

The T0–T5 Scale at Car-Mart
T0
Never used Claude
Has not opened the Claude desktop app for any Car-Mart work.
Example Field collector who still prints the weekly assignment list from the internal system and writes customer notes by hand before handing the sheet to the store manager.
T1
Transactional
One prompt, one answer, then done. No follow-up in the same thread.
Example Payment operations specialist copies a single customer note from the collections ticket system, asks Claude to make it more professional, and pastes the result back into the ticket.
T2
Project-based
Stays in one thread and refines the output over multiple turns for a single piece of work.
Example Regional manager pastes three months of RouteOne performance numbers for a store and works with Claude over four or five messages to produce the full variance explanation and recommended actions for the monthly meeting.
T3
Multi-domain
Brings Claude into different Car-Mart systems and functions within the same thread or tightly connected work.
Example Audit & compliance specialist starts with a title discrepancy in the state title portal, pulls the matching record from Dealertrack, then has Claude draft the required entry for the internal collections ticket system and the memo for the regional manager.
T4
AI peer
Treats Claude as a peer on a recurring workflow. Delegates pieces of work and reviews the output the way they would review a direct report.
Example Dealer/finance manager gives Claude the current list of accounts flagged in the collections ticket system and has it prepare individualized briefing packets for each field collector before the weekly assignment is finalized.
T5
Full orchestration
Orchestrates Claude plus other tools across an entire decision process with clear human review points.
Example Training & enablement lead sets up a process where Claude monitors new high-risk accounts across multiple stores, pulls relevant data from RouteOne and the collections system, prepares talking points for field collectors, and routes the full package to the regional manager for final review.
Self-assessment

Look at the scale above. Pick the tier that best matches how you actually use Claude on Car-Mart work right now — not how you think you should use it.

• T0–T1: Most of the room is here today.
• T2: Some of you are already here.
• T3: A few people in the room.
• T4: Rare, but they exist.
• T5: Likely no one in this room yet.

What will actually happen in the next 2.5 hours

If you are at T1 today, you will leave able to work at T2 on real Car-Mart work — collections notes, store reporting, and field collector assignments.

If you are already at T2, you will leave able to work at T3 across Dealertrack, RouteOne, the state title portal, and the collections ticket system.

If you are already at T3 or T4, you will not sit in the back and check email. Your role is to pair with T0 and T1 participants during the final exercise.

T3 AND ABOVE This part is not optional

The people who have already reached T3 or T4 do not get to skip the room or work ahead. You will be deliberately paired with T0 and T1 participants for the final real-work exercise. The teaching is the engagement. In the process of explaining how you already work across systems, you will see exactly where your own approach still has gaps.

This is how the entire room moves up the scale together instead of a few people getting further ahead while others stay behind.
